We Ask God

We ask God to remove our troubles
And miss the peace in the midst of the storm
We ask God to ease the persecutions
And miss Him standing beside us
We ask not to be cast down trodden underfoot of men
And miss God pouring in the oil and wine
We ask God to help us bear our cross
To take away the thorn in our side
And miss the grace that is sufficient
We pray that we be not scattered to the four winds
And miss the opportunity to spread the gospel
We ask that he remove the things that strengthen us
The tribulation, distress, and persecution,
The famine, nakedness, peril and sword
Being considered as a sheep for slaughter
Men riding over our heads
Fire - blood - water
Lord do not take these things from me
Let Your will be done in me
And if I complain of the things that hurt me
Remind me -NOTHING will separate us
Death or life, messengers or powerful principalities
The present or the future, things over us or under us,
Nothing in the universe of creation
Shall come between us,
Between You and Your love for me.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength
and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14 ©2007 Stephen Share
