Sabbath of Rest
Oh that I had wings of
To fly to the snow capped mountains
The fresh scented forest
The green rolling hills
Or the sea washed sands
To enter into Your presence
The Sabbath of rest
Ceased from our own works
Just to sit at your feet and learn of You
Away from the throb of the world
The clatter and the conflict
The ringing and pounding
The deadlines and strife
Just to ask You questions
And receive time enduring answers
To converse with You
To share joys and hopes
To feel Your hand in mine
As we walk the rugged trails
Lord You and I
Lord I would that Your Holy Spirit
Control my thoughts
Direct my actions
And give me wings
The wings of a dove
To enter into Your Sabbath of rest

Psa 55:6 And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest.
Mat 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
Mat 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Joh 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation
of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.
