Removing the Rubbish

Removing the rubbish cluttering our lives
The things that obscure Christ from view
The noise, the music, the hum of life
The smells, the stench, the scent of our efforts
The views, the sights the beauty, the ugliness
The warmth, the coolness, the light, and the heavy
The spicy, the bland, the sour and the sweet
Our hopes, our fears, our torments our tears
Our right, our wrong, our righteousness, our sin
Our struggles, our strife, our efforts, our might
Our thoughts, our doctrine, our church, our religion
The fame, the fortune, the notoriety, the reputation
Our relatives, Our friends, our closest loved ones
Those we look up to, those we look down to
Those that give us advice, and those we give advice
The others that God uses, that do mighty works
Casting all aside to expose Christ living in us.

And we standing naked and open
Will they see us and look away in embarrassment
People wishing they had never seen that sight
Or will they see Christ the warm glow of light
The pervades every part reaching out to touch the soul in need
