No Other Name
We call ourselves by all sorts of names
We call ourselves Christians - which is a name
We call ourselves after our demoninations - which are other names
We may say "We follow this man's teachings" - yet another name
We may say "I belong to this organisation" - holding to a name
We say "I'm a Christian I go to this church"
"I'm a Chistian I worship there."
"I'm a Pentecostal, Presbetarian or Lutheran
Catholic, Methodist or non-denominational"
"I follow this prophet, I follow this pastor,
I follow this apostle, I follow this bishop with a megaministry"
Why do we hold on to these names?
Why do we surname ourselves after another?
Why we say "I am so and so the Pentecostal or other"
Does not that say 'I have married myself to this organisation'
'I am married to this church or to this man or his teachings'
'This is my surname!'
Which name gave you your salvation
Which name is our Mediator
To which Name do all the knees bow in heaven and earth
There is no other Name in heaven and in earth
He is our life, He is our joy, He is our substance
I am His - I will hold no other name
No other name but our Lord Jesus Christ
I am betrothed to Him
