When we wash something we use water that is pure
to wash away the impurities. Using contaminated water would mean that the article
to be washed would become as contaminated as the water. If we use the purest
water to clean an article, immediately we have finished the article starts to
become contaminated again through dust and impurities in the air, through our
handling of the article, through our using of the article. It is no longer clean
it must be washed again.
The word of God is absolutely pure. It washes us clean, and purifies our hearts. If we try to take that word and pour it over others immediately it has become contaminated, because we have handled it. (Haggai 2:10) The only way to know God and his cleansing power is to go to the source and become immersed in the Word, the Living Logos of God.
Cleansed through the word spoken
Purified through the Logos of God
That which is speaking from before the foundation of the world
Sweeping through the ages
Washing away the impurities
Cascading over us like a mighty thundering waterfall
Cleansing the leprosy of the soul
"Be thou clean!"
Washed whiter than snow falling through unpolluted skies
More pure than dew clinging to untrampled grass
Cleansed whiter than through any soap of man's efforts
Now are you clean through the Word
There is nothing more pure
There is nothing more holy
The Word that is spoken
The Living Word that is GOD

Hag 2:10 In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying, If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy?
And the priests answered and said, No.
Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean?
And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.
Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.
Joh 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word [logos] which I have spoken[may be past, present or future tense], unto you.
Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ
also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse
it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself
a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that
it should be holy and without blemish.
Heb 7:26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation
of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength
and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14 ©2007 Stephen Share
