People want to know you like a film star celebrity
Drooling over a flawless picture in a glossy magazine
They profess to know You,
They have read everything there is to read about You
Listened to the gossip of other's experience with You
They try to know You, gather in mobs to claw at You
Cheering from the street side like a crowd watching a royal procession
Keeping the things you have touched like some precious thing
Spiritual mementos kept as good luck charms or talisman.
Wearing the things You wear, eating the things You eat
Copycats living a life outside of their own.
Forgetting that the only way to really know You is to be You.
Lord draw us close to you,
You and us together in each other
Two or three together with You
Moving as one body
Your life in us together.

Ecc 4:9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Joh 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
Joh 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Mat 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation
of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength
and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14 ©2008 Stephen Share
